On recommendation of a friend, I spent one autumn evenings at Perth’s coolest Jazz Club. We managed to see The Baker Suite on their Australian Tour.
It was just what I thought a Jazz Club. Dark, intimate, good music and lots of round tables with old school chairs. Of course, there was one thing lacking – smoke because we don’t do smoky clubs in Australia which put a dampener on the general vibe and atmosphere.
The Band was a cross of folk with elements of jazz. It kinda reminded me of Monsieur Camembert without the Clesma.
As a venue, the Ellington is cool. It is great to catch a show but also a great location if you need to use their function rooms.
The drinks are reasonably priced and their food is nice, esp their pizza.
